Work for an individual

Two women watering plantsWhen you work as a PCA for an individual in their home, you have the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life—and develop a close, long-lasting relationship.

The biggest difference between working for an agency and working directly for an individual is that when you work for an individual, that person is your employer. When you work for an agency, the agency is your employer.

When you work directly for an individual, that person (or his/her family) will set the terms of your employment, including your responsibilities, hours of work, and pay. You, of course, will reach agreement on these important matters before you start work.
