What is Rewarding Work?

Rewarding Work is a Web-based service at www.rewardingwork.org designed to assist Rhode Island residents with disabilities of all ages and their families to hire their own staff. Through the combination of the Internet and a toll-free telephone number, Rewarding Work allows consumers to access a comprehensive database of qualified care providers.

How much does access to www.rewardingwork.org cost?

Rhode Island families who receive support through PersonalChoice, Respite or PASS may be eligible for free subscriptions to Rewarding Work. Contact your advisement or provider agency for additional information.

Other consumers can purchase a subscription to Rewarding Work for 1-month for only $10; 3-months for just $25. Increase your savings by purchasing a 6-month subscription for only $50 and a super low price of $90 for a whole year of service, which is like receiving 3 months for free.

Why would I want this service?

It allows you, the consumer, to hire the support you need. There are hundreds of people registered with Rewarding Work in Rhode Island who are looking for work. They have the skills to assist you in living independently. Rewarding Work gives you choice and control.

How does it work?

Rewarding Work lets you choose from a wide group of potential employees. It assists you by making the search process for support staff much easier. With a simple click of a mouse, individuals can find the personal assistant or personal care attendant (PCA) who best meets their needs. Find PCAs who live close by and can work when you need them.

Are workers prescreened?

No. Job candidates in the Rewarding Work database have NOT been screened in any way and their backgrounds have NOT been checked. That is your responsibility as an employer.
