Family Support Advocate
Job Type: Full time
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, morning and evening shifts available seven days a week
Location: Greenfield MA
$1,500 Sign-on Bonus!

UCP is seeking to create a unique supportive program for a young man with ASD returning to his home in the community. He is an active and fun person who enjoys nature, shopping, and being part of his community. He has complex support needs due to a history of self-injurious behavior and requires specialized supports to be safe and successful in this setting. This role requires working closely with a team from UCP as well as his family to provide services both in his home and in the community.

Family Support Advocate Requirements:

- At least 18 years old with High school diploma or equivalent
- Life or work experience with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities,
- At least 3-5 years experience with ASD
- Experience with complex self injurious behaviors
- Ability to use a computer to enter case notes; communicate by email, video conferencing, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Be able to handle emergency situations
- Have certification in CPR/First Aid or ability to be certified
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance
- CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check
- Experience preferred with AAC communication device
