PCA/DSP needed for Child

Description

We are looking for a caring, patient, and reliable Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker to assist our 6-year-old son, who is autistic and non-verbal.

He does not have any physical or mobility limitations. The role is mainly focused on supporting him with his daily personal care routine and helping him become more comfortable and independent with these activities.

Location: Marblehead, MA

Schedule:

* Approximately 6 hours per week
* Monday – 2 hours
* Thursday – 2 hours
* Friday – 2 hours
* Exact times can be discussed with the right person.

Main responsibilities:

* Assisting and encouraging him with feeding and mealtimes
* Showering and bathing
* Brushing teeth and general personal hygiene
* Helping him complete his personal care routine safely and calmly
* Encouraging independence with daily living skills
* Providing gentle supervision and support during scheduled hours

We are looking for someone who is calm, patient, caring, dependable, and comfortable working with a non-verbal autistic child.

Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or additional support needs is strongly preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

* Experience supporting autistic or non-verbal children
* Experience providing personal care
* First Aid/CPR certification preferred
* Reliable and consistent availability
* Good communication skills
* Patient and gentle approach
* Able and willing to provide/complete a CORI criminal background check and other applicable background checks

This is a regular, ongoing part-time position. We hope to find someone who can build a trusting relationship with our son and stay with our family long term.
