PCA/DSP needed for Adult

Description

Provide hands on support to an adult male in his early 40s with intellectual and significant physical needs both at home and in the community. Part of two person team.

Looking for someone
• With ability to see the whole person and their potential, not just their support needs
• Has a positive life outlook and sense of adventure with safety awareness
• Calm and respectful attitude
• Intuitive, innovative and flexible both in approach and provision of support
• Comfortable providing appropriate transfers and physical support/personal care for identified community opportunities
• Familiarity/experience with therapeutic horseback riding a plus
• Experience supporting non-verbal individuals with multiple challenges (tight muscles due to Cerebral Palsy, lack of vision) a plus

Required
• Basic cooking ability
• Reliability is a must.
• Ability to work as part of a two person team
• Your physical strength needed for all transfers and activities of daily living
• Physically active

• Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturday 11:30-a.m.-6:30 p.m. also available
• Position is available year round but we welcome students/others with availability for only some days with flexibility in hours as long as it includes noontime meal

Prefer that you are no more than 20 minutes from Hadley due to potential bad winter weather
