Individual Day Support needed for Adult

Part-Time Para-Professional Family is searching for candidates to work 1:1 with an outgoing 30 year old ASD female. Family would prefer someone who is outgoing, patient, with an ability to re-direct and who understands the challenges of a person with an intellectual disability with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This means a positive attitude is imperative!!! Individual’s needs are as follows: Working with ADL’s, recreation, furthering independence, meal preparation, errands/ shopping, and transportation. Companionship is high on the list as this Individual is isolated but is highly social, loves to chat and interact with people.

Applicants must be reliable, punctual, neat, and organized, willing to perform tasks as required within the approved plan of care. The position is ideal for someone who possesses strong interpersonal skills and who enjoys working in this field. We are looking for individuals who are available to work part-time hours, weekday afternoons.

Candidates must be fluent in English and able to support and implement specific goals on a daily basis. Some of the duties include but are not limited to:
Life skills (shopping, doctors’ visits) Supervising chores and activities of daily living
Must be able to maintain logs and communicate effectively.
Must be able to follow a Behavior Support Plan to promote positive behavior (PMPT certified preferable, CPR/First Aid trained)
Candidates must have a clean driving record and pass a criminal background check. Location is in the family home in Westport, Ct

Available hours are: 4-hours/day Monday-Friday 3pm-7pm and 3:30-7:30 In addition there are flexible hours and per diem hours on the weekend. Hourly rate varies - depending on experience $24.00-$27.00/hr

Candidates will work as part of a 2:1 team in accordance with the IP that is supervised by a Licensed Behaviorist on staff. Family is requesting that only Candidates up to date with Covid vaccines apply.
