Individual Home Support needed for Adult

Posting as an Individual Goods and Services Supervisor.

Seeking a motivated & active direct support professional to provide individualized home supports for a 24 year old male with autism in Bridgeport, soon to be relocating to Norwalk.

Currently looking to hire peers to assist and support his self directed programming in his home and community.

The days can be flexible, Monday - Friday with hours between 4pm - 9pm. Day to day programming will vary with both in home activities (ADL’s) as well as community based outings. Activities such as going to the gym and swimming (pool / jacuzzi) are a requirement of this position and the applicant must be comfortable being in the water. Other community outings could be going to mall, walking parks, going out to eat (with approved locations) as well as trampoline parks, the zoo, aquarium, ie.

Hours on Saturday are available for similar programming needs with the flexibility of day time hours. Established employees, fully trained and confident, will have the opportunity to work 24hr Respite Per Diem Shift as well.

Training will be provided by behaviorist on individual behavior support plan as well as teaching strategies and de-escalation techniques.

This position will also require hands on assistance with personal cares / hygiene at times as well.

Applicant MUST have a vehicle to use daily with proof of insurance and a valid drivers license.

Pay is BOE, starting wage $25.00/per hour with wage increase after 90 day working test period.

Funding provided through DDS with GTI as the fiscal intermediary.
