Description
A skills trainer is needed to work with a 19-year-old girl with developmental disabilities and autism who needs assistance developing her life skills and ADLs at home after school, in the evenings, and on weekends.
The duties include walking him outside to engage in appropriate social interactions with others. Assist with self-feeding direction at mealtimes, learning to clean up during and after eating, directing to dressing skills daily and at bath time, directing toileting skills and hygiene skills of hand washing and grooming, basic self-care activities, picking up after himself, and using his AAC device more independently.
Alex is a kind and gentle 19-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with autism and anxiety and is non-verbal. After her mother's passing due to cancer, she relocated to live with her grandparents last year, who speak mostly Portuguese in Taunton.
Alex has primarily non-verbal autism and struggles with self-expression, leading to feelings of being overwhelmed and frustrated. Additionally, she has a tendency to wander away from her caregivers.
Someone who enjoys spending time with teenagers and is comfortable and capable of redirecting potentially difficult behavior.
