PCA needed for Elder

Description

Looking for 7 hours to be filled two days per week with a woman in Dartmouth.

Must have transportation as consumer is elderly, has a vision impairment, and would need assistance to some local appointments.

Ideal candidate would be very soft spoken, willing to learn how to care for someone with early onset dementia, cognitive decline, medically complex, but does not require any medical oversight.

Duties include cooking meals, transportation to local errands or appointments, and seeking long-term PCA position.

She will be receiving an increase in her hours soon. As of now the hours would be two days per week at 3.5 hours a day. The schedule is very flexible.

This position is paid through Tempus. Consumer has an estate assigned case manager and PCA program surrogate. There is a care plan to follow and communication with case manager is essential to provide care crucial to meet her needs. Consumer is still adapting to her disabilities and often politely denies support that she really needs.
