PCA needed for Adult

Description

Looking for a PCA two days a week to work with a female in South Dartmouth that is 60 years old. This individual is very sweet, easy to work with, and her hours are expected to increase within the next few weeks.

As of right now, she is looking for two days per week for 3.5 hours each shift. Ideally, she would like to hire someone for the weekdays either mornings or mid afternoon. The schedule is very flexible.

She is part of the PCA program with MassHealth and PCAs are paid by Tempus.

She is looking for someone who has reliable transportation that can accompany her while walking in her neighborhood, assist with groceries, take her to local appointments (gas money will be provided weekly if transported), assist with light housekeeping, some ADLs, some other iADLs.

She has very limited vision. She has a certification stating she is legally blind. She lives independently, but does need help maintaining her independence.

I am her case manager and surrogate for her PCA program. She is unable to manage her PCA program so all scheduling and payroll will be run through me. I do not micromanage PCAs however, communication is crucial with this individual due to her complex medical conditions, and early onset dementia causing her short-term memory loss. She is the sweetest woman, always so appreciative, and someone who can maintain boundaries, provide positive feedback and encouragement is crucial to her supports. As of now, her hours are only 7hrs/week. I have requested an increase to her PCA hours which will begin sometime this month or early August.
