Individual Home Support needed for Adult

Description

For 22 yo young man with moderate to severe autism and poor to no verbal communication skills. Very smart. Very physically fit and participates in Special Olympics and loves walks/hikes, but also has numerous medical conditions. Though average is given for hours, I can be flexible to insure reliability.

Looking for 2 dedicated individuals for 2 positions around 25 hours each for total of 50 hours.

First is for medical management (personal) assistant who will assist and learn all of his conditions, attend doctor appointments, track symptoms, keep abreast on ordering of medications, create medical binder of conditions, history, physicians, allergies, medications and be able to communicate everything to caregivers and medical personnel in case of emergency with parent. Some companionship is required here, but little if any ADL's. This position may also lead into management of other matters like State paperwork and asset management (balance his account), etc.

The second position will be to work with him on his communication tools as directed by speech therapist, assist with developing daily routines and chores, some cleaning as it pertains to his dwelling area (wiping down windows, furniture for allergens, cleaning/replacing air filters, frequent bedding changes to avoid dust buildup, etc.) and having fun on walks and outings. He is very lonely.

I'm doing everything myself and running out of steam and would like to transition my knowledge and some of my responsibilities to a few dedicated, kind, patient, and qualified individuals. We live in an animal free and smoke free home in a suburban town that is alive with activities. No experience with autism is necessary. I will educate on how my son works. Companion must be physically fit and able to lift, carry, go on walks and mild hikes and run if necessary.
