Caregiver needed for Child

Description

We are seeking one or more Part-Time Companion/Caregivers for an 11 year-old boy with ASD, Intellectual Impairment, ADHD, sensory processing disorder and behavioral challenges. Care will take place mostly in our apartment home in Wilmington, MA. We may also travel into the community but will transport our son and the PCA can accompany us.



Ideal candidate will be fun, energetic, compassionate, patient and physically able to keep up with a very active 11 year-old! He swings, trampoline, being outside, playing with puppets and his tablet. He also loves visiting neighbor doggies. Keeping him busy, engaged, and safe in his environment is a priority. Assisting him with ADLs such as dressing, preparing food and cleaning up after eating is also required. Experience with de-escalation during behavioral outbursts and knowledge and training in Safety Care is a plus.



Hours are flexible based on your ability, you could do 1,2,3 or more shifts! Total hours available are 24+ per week. Preferred schedule during the school week would be M-F, 3:30pm-630pm. He has a history of aversion to school due to anxiety and so school hours may also apply (8am-2pm). Additional weekday hours and weekend hours (AM, PM) are also available.



The majority of pay will be through Tempus Unlimited ($20/hr). Additional pay of + $4-10/hr may also be available, depending on the candidate's qualifications.
