Caregiver needed for Adult

Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced part-time caregiver to support a 22-year-old adult with cognitive impairments in a home setting. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, engaging, and committed to fostering a supportive and structured environment.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday
Hours: 2:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Pickup in Newton (The Price Center) and transport to Medfield residence
Transportation: Must be able to pick up between 2:15-2:30 PM and provide safe transport

Key Responsibilities:
Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs) and promote independence
Facilitate community engagement and enrichment activities such as:
- Reading, music, puzzles, card/board games, ping pong
- Outdoor activities: walking, swinging, yard games
- Reviewing sight words and safety signs
- Assist with household tasks:
- Unpacking backpack, snack preparation and cleanup
- Folding laundry, vacuuming, dishwasher loading/unloading
- Restocking refrigerator, occasional small grocery runs
- Support communication and task completion using Total Communication strategies
- Maintain a calm, structured, and predictable routine to reduce anxiety and promote stability

Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with cognitive impairments
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Must pass background checks
- Valid driver’s license and access to a safe, inspected vehicle
- Strong English communication skills
- Familiarity with Total Communication and ADL support
