PCA/DSP needed for Adult

Opportunity: Full-time PCA in Clinton, CT, supporting a high-functioning, 56-year old woman with an intellectual disability who lives alone.

Work Shifts: Day shifts (Monday-Friday) are needed which generally run from 9 am to 4 pm most days. Saturdays and Sundays may be an option also.

Job Description: We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and reliable PCA to assist Susan with daily living skills and community activities. Duties would include meal prep, oversight with laundry and housekeeping, trips to the library, taking walks for exercise, helping her with workbooks, playing cards/games, and taking her to appointments and community activities. Susan can do a lot for herself (shower, dress, get cereal, etc.) but she often needs guidance to make good choices. She had hip surgery in 2024 and walks with a cane, so observance on stairs or uneven surfaces is needed to keep her safe.

Hourly Pay: The current hourly pay is $23/hour and the payments are handled through GT Independence, the fiscal intermediary. You must have a reliable car to take Susan out into the community, along with a good driving record. A background check is required.
