Description
Seeking a thoughtful, reliable coach/mentor for a socially motivated 24-year-old young adult with autism (Level 1) who is working to rebuild engagement and confidence following a period of regression.
This is not a traditional tutoring or caregiving role—it focuses on real-world, experiential learning (e.g., museums, city exploration, discussion, reading, and guided reflection) to support intellectual growth, critical thinking, and community integration.
Responsibilities include:
Engaging in community-based learning (libraries, museums, Boston neighborhoods)
Supporting discussion, reading, and simple writing/reflection
Encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence
Ideal candidate:
Patient, kind, and emotionally steady
Enjoys learning, culture, and thoughtful conversation
Experience with autism/neurodivergence preferred
Flexible, reliable, and organized
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Location: Chestnut Hill / West Roxbury
Hours: Flexible, part-time (primarily daytime with some evening and weekend availability)
Compensation: Paid through DDS (PDP program) via Acumen (W-2), taxes withheld
