Individual Day Support needed for Adult

Hi, my name is Paige Librandi.
I am 34 years old. I live in Milford CT, and I live with my dad and younger sister Alex.
I was born healthy but four weeks later I got Meningitis and I was sick for the first three years of my life.
The aftermath caused me to have Cerebral Palsy, making my life a little difficult, but I never let anyone tell me oh you can't work or go to college you have a right to live your life the way you want
I have been using a power wheelchair since I was three years old.
After I graduated high school, I was in the Step Forward program for two years at Gateway Community College.
After I did the second year, I still took college classes I took 13 classes and passed all of them!
I graduated from Gateway Community College with a certificate in Human Services in May of 2020 after 10 years of college!
Now I have the iPad with an app that I use to speak.
I am a very independent young woman!
I can check out at stores by myself!
When I try to get something on my own and it is hard to reach or grab, I would just ask someone nearby or an employee to get it for me.
When I am at a store alone and I drop my phone bag or my purse first, I raise my hand then I will push my button on my wheelchair that has a loud beep or in my iPad that says can you please help me.
If nobody hears me, I will wait for someone to walk by me and politely ask them to pick it up for me.
Unfortunately, it can take up to 10 or 15 minutes to get someone to help me.
My job is a Self-Advocate Coordinator at Connecticut Developmental Services.
I teach individuals how to take charge of their life and make their own decisions.
I wanted this job because I have seen how people without disabilities treat people with disabilities and sometimes it's not good, I think that they are uncertain or have pity or get nervous to communicate with disabled people
