PCA/DSP needed for Adult

Evening PCA position

Part time PCA position, 5pm to 10pm, Monday through Thursday. Responsible for meals, meds, showers, bed time preparation. May be asked to run errands, or drive to activities. Must be able to drive a large van, lift various objects, cook healthy but limited diet and work congenially other PCA's.

I am a 55 yr old female with Traumatic Brain Injuries and Traumatic Spinal Cord Injuries. I use a power wheelchair in and out of the house and am self ambulatory with close supervision in my house on good days. I require help with meal preparation, meds, toileting, and bedtime preparation as well as physical and visual therapies and assistance with activities.

The position is paid though the PCA Waiver Program with the Department of Social Services & Agency on Aging & Disabilities through GT Independence. The State requires everyone to pass a criminal background check and a clean driving record. Due to the nature of the care needed especially regarding neurological issues, prior or current substance use would not be appropriate. Though no formal medical training is required, a familiarity with TBI &/or TSCI would be helpful and a willingness to learn specific medical protocols is essential. Due to a variety of my medical issues, the house is smoke free and alcohol free.
