PCA/DSP needed for Adult

Description

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) needed, Spanish preferred as family is Spanish speaking but not necessary. PCA must provide total, hands-on care for a non-verbal, 37-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy and Quadriparesis in an accessible Hartford home, during the week from approx. 3:00 PM to 8PM or 9PM and weekends during the day. Main responsibilities include full assistance with evening activities of daily living (ADLs)—such as dressing, diaper changes, and preparing and feeding a specialized diet—alongside strict adherence to critical safety protocols. Because the individual has dysphagia and a high risk for choking, the caregiver must be exceptionally attentive to feeding him very slowly with ground, moist food and nectar-thickened liquids. Additionally, the role requires executing full physical transfers, meticulously repositioning him every two hours to prevent skin breakdown, and closely monitoring his well-being due to a history of a seizure disorder and asthma.
