Caregiver needed for Child

Our family in Newton is seeking a proactive, flexible, and experienced part-time nanny to care for our 7-year-old son. We are looking for someone who can thrive working with our sweet and playful kid who has physical and intellectual disabilities.

The pay is $35+/hour, depending on experience. 12 hours a week, up to 20 guaranteed hours if desired. See below. ASAP or September. Pay via payroll service, with PTO and sick time. We are looking for a long-term commitment.

The job: Caring for 7-year-old after-school, until 5. He is non-verbal and doesn't walk, and is very communicative, mobile, and fun. He loves outings, playing, animals, water play. Experience with kids with disabilities is a plus but not required. The most important thing is to be excited about engaging with him, and to be consistent and reliable. A reliable vehicle is required for commuting, and we have parking. We will provide a car for on-the-job driving.

Hours: 3 pm to 5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. 1-5 pm on Wednesdays. Potential for additional guaranteed hours, up to 20 hours/week. Preference for someone who would be able to take on additional hours when schools are closed (eg break weeks). Additional hours available in the summers.

We have two small, friendly hypo-allergenic dogs. No pet care required.
