Caregiver Needed for 15-Year-Old Boy with Special Needs

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and patient caregiver to provide support and companionship for our 15-year-old son, who has special needs. Our son is non-verbal (some words) and wheelchair dependent. Despite his challenges he is engaging, funny, charming, energetic, loves to be around people and will put a smile on your face.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, responsible, attentive, and comfortable working with a teenager who needs additional support with daily activities, routines, supervision, and social engagement.

Responsibilities may include:
• Provide attentive and compassionate care and supervision
• Assisting with wheelchair transfers
• Assisting with changing and personal care, meals
• Assisting with outings and recreational activities
• Providing a safe, caring, and positive environment
• Assist with daily routines and age-appropriate activities
• Provide companionship and engage in fun, meaningful activities
• Help maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment

Qualifications
• Experience caring for children or teenagers with special needs preferred
• Patient, dependable, trustworthy, and compassionate
• Comfortable following established routines and instructions
• Strong communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
• Reliable transportation
• Background check and sense of humor required

Schedule & Compensation
• Schedule: Up to 32 hours. After school and weekends with flexibility
• Pay: $23.50/hr paid weekly through GT Independence
• Location: East Granby
• Start date: Pending background check
