Senior Supports needed for Elder

Description

An active woman seeks a reliable and supportive person to provide part‑time assistance in the community and in her apartment. Must have a car. Someone who lives in or near Allston is preferred.

Hiring for 8 hours a week, spilt as agreed.

Ideally, one visit would be on either Friday or Saturday during the day. The second weekly visit would be a weekday evening after 3pm.

Responsibilities:
Take this person food shopping at local farmer’s markets and grocery stores, as well as CVS.
Assist with shopping and carrying bags into the apartment.
Take this person to the local laundry mat and assist with doing laundry (carry bags, move clothes between machines, folding).
Help with opening mail, filing, and general organization in the apartment. This includes identifying items to donate or to put away.
Help with meal preparation
May be asked to provide transportation to medical appointments and airport, if needed.


The ideal candidate will be:

Responsive to text messages and email for scheduling purposes
Be patient and dependable
Warm, personable, and able to build positive rapport
Able to provide respectful, person-centered support
Organized and capable of assisting with light household tasks
Must have an excellent driving record and access to a reliable car
Knowledge of self-determination and self-advocacy is a big plus
Must be able to pass a National Background Check and a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check
Preferably live in or near Allston, MA
