Description
The Social Life Coordinator helps the client maintain an active and enjoyable social life by identifying activities, events, and programs that align with her interests and schedule. The coordinator assists with organizing the client's social calendar and encouraging participation in recreational, social, and community opportunities.
Responsibilities include researching activities and programs, proposing options to consider, coordinating schedules for events, and occasionally accompanying the client to activities when helpful. The coordinator also helps ensure that her weekly schedule includes opportunities for social engagement, recreation, and personal enjoyment.
The role emphasizes participation and experience, helping the client remain socially active while discovering new opportunities that match her interests. The coordinator encourages exploration of clubs, events, classes, recreational programs, and other activities that support a balanced and engaging lifestyle.
The Social Life Coordinator focuses on helping the client access and enjoy these experiences rather than teaching or coaching life-management skills.
Prior work experience with adult individuals or groups with Down Syndrome preferred.
