Companion needed for Adult

Looking for an adult companion to be on campus with college student. Needs experience responding to seizures and needs to be able to administer rescue seizure medication. Hours will be 8:45-1:15, starting at 2 days a week with the possibility of increasing to 3-4 days a week. Position follows campus calendar August 31- May 4. Experience with individuals with autism preferred. First aid certification preferred. No smoking allowed on campus.
Position Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years old or older and complete a National Background Check, CORI and DPPC Registry form upon hire.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Must be legally able to work in the United States.

Job Duties: Be in specified spot on the campus, ready to respond to seizure alerts (will be sent to phone). Respond immediately to alerts or if notified of an event that doesn’t trigger phone alert. Follow seizure protocol. Must be willing to learn about her specific types of seizures and the appropriate responses for each. Provide detailed description of seizures observed including length, visual details observed, time to recovery to baseline, etc. Assist with coping techniques for anxiety as needed. Communication with program staff.
