Weekend Respite Caregiver / Personal Support

**Location:** Taunton, MA
**Schedule:** Primarily weekends; Saturday and/or Sunday shifts available. Additional weekday/evening hours may be available.
**Position:** Part-time, flexible/recurring

We are looking for a **reliable, compassionate and patient caregiver** to join a small caregiving team supporting a 53-year-old man with cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities who lives at home with his family.

He is a friendly adult who enjoys getting out into the community, attending his activities and spending time with his family. He needs assistance with activities of daily living and mobility.

Responsibilities may include:

* Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
* Assistance with toileting
* Assistance with transfers and mobility
* Meal preparation and assistance with meals as needed
* Following his established care and medication routines as directed
* Providing supervision and companionship
* Supporting community outings and activities
* Helping him participate safely in the community
* Maintaining a safe, respectful and comfortable environment
* Communicating with his legal guardian regarding his needs and any concerns

We are looking for someone who:

* Is dependable and arrives on time
* Is patient, kind and respectful
* Is comfortable providing hands-on personal care
* Is comfortable assisting with transfers and mobility
* Has experience caring for adults with developmental or physical disabilities, preferably cerebral palsy
* Is comfortable working independently after becoming familiar with his routine
* Has reliable transportation
* Is willing to become familiar with his communication style, preferences and care needs
* Understands the importance of maintaining his dignity, independence and privacy

**CPR/First Aid certification and previous experience with transfers and personal care are preferred.**

### Schedule

We are particularly looking for someone who can provide **consistent weekend coverage**, such as:

**Saturday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM**
and/or
**Sunday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM**

There may also be opportunities for occasional evening, appointment and backup coverage.

We are hoping to find someone interested in becoming a **reliable member of his long-term caregiving team**, rather than providing only occasional one-time care.

He lives with his family, including his legal guardian. We are looking for someone who will become a trusted member of his support team and help us maintain a safe, stable and enjoyable home and community life for him.

The right person will be treated as an important member of the team and will have clear expectations, training and support.
